Summer 2020 Classes

All classes run until summer showcase performance August 7 & 8 unless otherwise noted below.

ballet

PRE-BALLET Our pre-ballet classes are a perfect introduction into the world of dance, with a maximum class size of 6 and an engaging combination of ballet terminology & make believe play. Dress Code Requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt/tutu optional. Hair pulled back out of face. Dress code financial assistance available upon request. Times Offered: Saturday 9:15 am (ages 2-5)

BALLET I Geared toward the student with 0-2 years of ballet training, your child will learn basic ballet terminology, proper warm up techniques, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography scheduled to be performed at spring showcase. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face. Dress code financial assistance available upon request. Times Offered: Monday 4pm (ages 6-11); Saturday 10:30am (ages 6-11).

BALLET II Geared toward the student with 2+ years of ballet training, your child will learn more advanced terminology, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography scheduled to be performed at spring showcase on May 31-June 1. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face. Dress code financial assistance available upon request. Times Offered: Monday 4pm (ages 6-11); Saturday 10:30am (ages 6-11)

TEEN/ADULT BALLET Multi-level class for ages 12+ with 0-4 years of ballet training, you will learn basic ballet terminology, proper warm up techniques, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography. If enough students are advanced, a separate section will be established to meet learning requirements. For ages 12+. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face. Dress code financial assistance available upon request. Times Offered: Saturdays 12pm (ages 12-adult)

tap

PRE-TAP N’ SING This pre-tap class is geared toward ages 2-5. Students learn rhythm and elementary tap steps along with song and dance routines. Students will also learn to sing solo with a microphone. Dress code requirements: Comfortable clothes child can move in, tap shoes, hair pulled back out of face. Times Offered: Mondays 3pm (ages 2-5)

CHILDREN’S TAP This tap class for ages 6-11 is designed for the student with 0-3 years of tap experience. We will learn the basics as well as work on combinations and a routine to be performed in the spring. Dress code requirements: Tap shoes + comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in. Times Offered: Tuesdays 5:30pm (ages 6-11)

TEEN/ADULT TAP This tap class for ages 1 is designed for the student with 0-3 years of tap experience. We will learn the basics as well as work on combinations and a routine. Ages 12+ Dress code requirements: Tap shoes + comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in. Times Offered: Tuesdays 6:30pm (ages 12-adult)

CONTEMPORARY, ACRO

CHILDREN’S CONTEMPORARY Contemporary dance embodies ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical. It uses technique such as ballet as its fundamentals and creates many more greater movements that do not adhere to the strict rules of ballet and modern. Come learn the basics through intermediate technique with this class for ages 6-11. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face. Bare feet, jazz shoes, or foot paws. Times Offered: Monday 5:30pm (ages 6-11)

ACRO Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Students aged 6-11 will learn flexibility, basic acrobatics and dance style. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face. Times Offered: Wednesday 5:30pm (ages 6-11)

ART

Art Ever wanted to learn how to create art but don’t know where to start? If so, then this is the course for you! This class will teach you drawing, sketching and painting from a variety of learning styles. Times Offered: Tuesday 4:45pm (ages 6-16)

Digital Art Learn the fundamentals of digital art including basic techniques, creating your own characters, and utilizing mixed media as a form of creative expression. An iPad or other type of tablet is required for this class. Times offered: Wednesday 3pm (ages 8-adult)

theater

Teen/Adult Acting Come learn the fun of skits, scene study and original script creation in this class especially geared toward teens and adults. This close-knit classroom environment will include character development, improvisation, and more. Dress code requirements: Comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in. Times Offered: Tuesday 6:30pm (ages 12+)
